Honeymoon 2002
When we finally went on our honeymoon to Japan in April 2002, it was Sakura season and fresh, sunny springtime. We were already one year married and celebrated our wedding anniversary in a wonderful french restaurant in the middle of Ginza, the bustling shopping center of busy Tokyo. We wanna show you spectacular views of Mount Fuji, perfect Sakura blossoms, beautiful Zen monastries from Kyoto and mind-dangling snapshots from Tokyo wilderness
Vienna 2002
Vienna in early fall, the sunshine is still warming the heart. On this trip we were guided by our guide book, and we can claim we almost "did it all", Vienna in 4 days! Vienna is the town for the cool and trendy, if you won't believe, we recommend to visit. We don't tell the whole story here, but Vienna is the city for all senses (and did you know that the "Blaufränkische" is a most wonderful red wine - Austria is coming!)
Angkor Wat 2002
Our dream came true in late 2002, when we visited Angkor Wat for ten days in Cambodia. We were taken away by the spectacular temples of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and the many others. We collect our best photos here and will tell some stories about our visit in one of the poorest country we have seen, and where the only hope people have is in the next generation not yet born.
Thailand 02/03
For the year's change from 2002 to 2003, Annemarie and Dieter visited us in Thailand for two weeks. Before New Year, we took a trip towards the North-West up to Chiang Mai through Ayutthaya and many other famous places on the way. After celebrating the New Year in Bangkok, we chilled for another week in Hua Hin and Cha Am, enjoying the Sea and its food, among all the pleasures available under a nice January blue sky.
Osaka 2003
Macy came to visit me on one of my business trips to Osaka for a long weekend. Although it was still March, as usual, Macy brings the sun with her, and we got the first rays of warmth while strolling through the city and parks. One of the most memorable sights in Osaka, at least for us, was the big Aquarium, actually huge, in which a 12 meter whaleshark was circling, and some of the most bizarre animals were spotted.
Koh Kood 2003
Before moving to Germany, in May 2003, we spent a few days with Macy's parents and her youngest brother, Ei Jibb (Nataporn) in one of the most eastern islands of the Thai Golf, called Koh Kood. This was pure relaxation, all inclusive sun holidays in a hut over the beach, where the water was warming up in the bay to probably 40° in the afternoon, when the sun develop its strength.
Amsterdam 2003
Well, we all know it, when returning to Düsseldorf, I had a "Bandscheibenvorfall", i.e. a slip disk, and was out of order for a good moment. Slowly recovering, our first move was to neighboring Amsterdam for a cute little extended weekend - and it turned out to be a nice chilling-out journey. Maybe I will join into the album a few pix from yet another trip to Amsterdam and the world-famous Keukenhof from April 2005, when Macy's two cousins Bong and Bong were visiting us, and we spent a sunny day among tulips, orchids and other fantasms.

Egypt 2003
Ten days time travel into ancient Egypt proved a phantastic experience. From Kairo and the pyramids of Gizeh and the sphinx, at day and at night, dinner in world-famous Mena House, four days cruising on the Nile from Luxor past the valley of the Kings and Queens to Assuan dam, and back to Kairo. Visiting Kairo National Museum with all the grave ingredients from Tut-Anch-Amun was one of the most amazing museum trips ever, and we hope to keep some of this magical treasures with our pictures.
Koh Lau Liang 2004
As a part of our "yearly trip to Thailand", we spent a short week on Koh Lau Liang, a tiny little island in the southern province of Trang. Snorkeling, diving, beaching, and of course digesting most delicious seafood from the Thai waters. Koh Lau Liang seems to have withstood the Tsunami from a year later. These pix are mainly to remind us of the relaxing times and refreshing seabreeze floating around our nose when hammocking in the soothing shade of a coconut tree.
Paris 2004
Here come the pictures from yet another of our favourite dream-come-true trips - just a shorty over easter to eternal Paris. Well, this one was by bus - we won't recommend the bus to you - but once there, Paris proved its usual self once more. Are there any first-timers to La Tour Eiffel left? I was one, then. Also unforgettable our luxury seafood dinner in the Quartier Latin, le Louvre, and, of course, our two cappucinos with two croissants in the Cafe Lafayette for a modest 15 Euros cash...

South Africa 2004
A trip to wild and beautiful South Africa was our highlight of spring 2004. Wildlife wonders were what we wished! Jeetahs, Lions and Leopards in Kruger National Park, Rhinos, Elephants and Crocs further south in Hluhluwe National Park (say "Schluschluhe"), and Penguins and Seals even further down south, around the Cape. 3.600 km by rental car over two weeks, a most busy schedule with so much impressions we may not be able to show it all, but we try our best to relive our excitements! And soon you may find our next wildlife pictures from aboriginal Africa.

Europe 2004
When Macy's mother and aunts Toom and Watoo came to Europe in August 2004, another 4.000km cross-country carride were waiting for them. Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands were on the busy schedule. Celebrating Georg's mother 60th birthday was the first event of the trip. Through Switzerland we met with Tiew and Olivier in Neuchatel with Oliviers parents, then continued to Geneva and finally towards the Lago di Como and Milano. Next, we visited Cologne and Düsseldorf as well as Bruxelles further North.
Athens 2004
For another week in September, Macy accompanied me on a business trip to Athens, about two weeks after the Olympic Games had closed doors. Over the weekend we were wandering on the footsteps of the ancient Greeks, and compared their customs and culture with what we had seen in Egypt (even older) and Cambodia (even younger).
European Capitals 2005
In spring 2005, Macy being pregnant, we were making a few short trips to Budapest, Berlin and (B)ireland to Bublin . As short as the trips were, as short is the section here in the travelling page. Nevertheless, it is the city's atmosphere we wanna get across, and our feeling of jetting through the capitals of Europe during a few weeks, and get an impression of its spirits, splendours and splatters.
